Threshold of securities sales triggering capital gains tax raised to €20,000

Article 61 of the 2007 Finance Act raises from €15,000 to €20,000, for the taxation of 2007 income, the annual amount of securities sales below which individuals' capital gains are not taxable (Article 150-0 A of the General Tax Code). It then provides for annual updating of the threshold in line with the first income tax bracket. The threshold was raised to €25,000 for 2008 income, then abolished for sales from 2011.
