Abolition of aid for replacing employees on maternity or adoption leave or in training
Article 130 of the 2008 Finance Act repeals, from 1 January 2008, Articles L. 122-25-2-1 and L. 322-9 of the Labour Code. They provided two State aids to companies with fewer than fifty employees: a flat €400 aid to replace an employee on maternity or adoption leave, and an aid equal to 50% of the hourly minimum wage to replace an employee on training. Departures before 1 January 2008 still qualify for these aids.

Measure impact
Small companies no longer receive State aid to replace an employee on training or on maternity or adoption leave. The aids were little used (about 1,500 applications in 2007 for the maternity aid and 711 agreements by September 2007 for the training aid, according to the Senate special report).
