Abolition of the meat purchase tax
Article 28(I)(2°) of the 2004 Finance Act repeals Article 302 bis ZD of the General Tax Code, which established the meat purchase tax allocated to the fund financing the public rendering service, from 1 January 2004. According to the bill's explanatory memorandum, the abolition follows the European Commission guidelines on State aid for rendering. It is offset by the new slaughter tax and the increase in the tax for aid to trade and crafts.
