Increased apprenticeship tax: all work-study employees count towards the 3% threshold
Article 129 of the 2008 Finance Act rewrites the third paragraph of Article 225 of the General Tax Code. The increase of the apprenticeship tax to 0.6%, applicable since 2006 to companies with at least 250 employees where fewer than 3% are work-study employees under 26, is now assessed on all employees on professionalisation or apprenticeship contracts, regardless of age. The rule applies to pay from 1 January 2008. This increase was later replaced by the additional apprenticeship contribution.
