Aircraft noise tax raised at Orly and Toulouse, airport tax ceilings raised and single freight rate
Article 41 of the 2006 supplementary budget act amends two airport taxes. For the airport tax (Article 1609 quatervicies of the General Tax Code), the upper limits of the per-passenger ranges are raised (€4.3-9.5, €3.5-9 and €2.6-11 depending on the airport class) and the rate per tonne of freight or mail, previously varying by class, is set at a single €1 for all airports concerned. For the aircraft noise tax (Article 1609 quatervicies A), Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle forms a separate group (€10-22) and the new first group (Paris-Orly and Toulouse-Blagnac) sees its range raised from €10-22 to €30-40; revenue may also fund, up to two thirds, the repayment of public bodies' loans for soundproofing works. Parts I and III apply from 1 January 2007; the order of 30 December 2006 sets the rates for each airport.
