Parafiscal levy on radio and television advertising replaced by a tax earmarked for local radio stations
Article 47 of the 2003 Finance Act creates, from 1 January 2003, Article 302 bis KD of the General Tax Code: a tax on advertising broadcast by radio and television, based on the sums paid by advertisers to advertising sales houses, excluding agency commission and VAT, and due by the sales houses according to a scale based on quarterly receipts. It replaces the parafiscal levy with the same purpose, which expired on 31 December 2002, and takes over its base and scale. Its proceeds, after a 2.5% deduction for assessment and collection costs, fund the "Local Radio Expression Support Fund" section of special allocation account no. 902-32. Act no. 2003-709 of 1 August 2003 (Article 22) rewrote Article 302 bis KD from 1 July 2003.
