Fleet greening incentive tax: M1 vehicles adapted for utility use and N1-equivalent vehicles included
Article 58 (I, 8° to 11°, and II) of the 2026 Finance Act adjusts the annual incentive tax on the acquisition of low-emission light vehicles, owed by companies with a fleet of at least one hundred vehicles. Taxable light vehicles now include M1 vehicles reversibly adapted for utility use and vehicles treated as N1 (classified N2 because of the extra weight of an alternative fuel system). A vehicle with a low carbon footprint for part of the year is deemed to be so for the whole year, and the renewal rate counts vehicles joining the fleet that are owned, leased or made available for at least one year. Fleet greening obligations in the Environment Code are extended to categories L6e and L7e.
