Increase and extension of earmarked taxes funding professional committees and industrial technical centres
Articles 108 to 111 of the 2007 Finance Act amend several earmarked taxes created by Article 71 of the 2003 Amending Finance Act. The two rates of the tax in section E of that article rise from 0.091% to 0.1% and from 0.25% to 0.275%. The furniture tax (A) is extended to the wood industries at 0.1%, with the proceeds going to the committee and to the wood and furniture technical centre. The watchmaking, jewellery and silverware tax (C) is extended to tableware. The construction materials tax (F) is extended to ornamental and building stone (0.20%) and to imports from outside the European Union. These provisions apply from 1 January 2007.
