Medicines: faster reference pricing extended to hybrids, reimbursement of biosimilars capped
Article 87 of the 2026 Social Security Financing Act allows the reference reimbursement tariff one year (instead of two) after the price of the first generic is published and extends it to hybrid groups; it caps reimbursement within substitutable biosimilar groups at the highest biosimilar base two years after the first biosimilar price, unless substitution is medically excluded. A patient refusing substitution is reimbursed on the generic, hybrid or biosimilar basis. Applies to groups whose first price is published from 1 September 2026 (and some older groups).
