Meal vouchers usable for any food product
Article 6 of the law of 16 August 2022 on emergency measures to protect purchasing power allows, as an exception and until 31 December 2023, meal vouchers to be used to pay for any food product, ready to eat or not (pasta, rice, flour, etc.), at retailers that accept them, including supermarkets. The article comes from an amendment by the Senate rapporteur, Frédérique Puissat.

Measure impact
Employees who receive meal vouchers can spend them on food to cook, not only on meals or ready-to-eat dishes, until the end of 2023. The measure has no direct effect on public finances. The exception was later extended by other texts (not covered here).
