5.5% VAT on heat from networks supplied at least 50% by renewable or recovered energy
Article 73 of the amending finance act for 2008 lowers from 60% to 50% the minimum share of biomass, geothermal energy, waste or recovered energy a heating network must use for heat supply to qualify for the reduced 5.5% VAT rate (Article 279 b decies of the General Tax Code). The measure applies to heat invoiced from 1 March 2009 or included in advances and down payments received from that date.
