Universal nuclear payment: redistribution rules and zero rate for 2026

Decree No. 2026-55 organises the universal nuclear payment provided for by Article 17 of the 2025 Finance Act: the proceeds of the tax on the use of nuclear fuel are passed to electricity suppliers, who apply them as a reduction on consumers' bills at a unit rate set each year on a proposal from the Energy Regulatory Commission. On the Commission's proposal (deliberation No. 2026-52), the order of 27 March 2026 sets this unit rate at €0/MWh for 2026.
